Just read the article in its entirety. One of the best summaries I’ve ever read. Gives me chills remembering first discovering about peak oil in 1998 or so, and going down that rabbit hole. Now, we’re all going down the hole that’s been warned about since I was a little kid.

@Jack The US has no true ‘high speed’ rail, at least compared to the rest of the world. The one faster link is the Acela train that runs from Boston to DC, but given the dilapidated trainways it usually isn’t any faster than ‘regular’ trains. I tried posting a link but get an error, but searching ‘acela train’ should get you to the Amtrak site.

I remember a previous conversation with you about wintertime ‘starving sun’. As a little kid in Ontario, I remember being out in full sun, everything overpoweringly bright from the snow, but the light had no warmth at all. Inside, standing in direct sun provided zero heat.
