Wondering why you feel utterly skint yet fossil fuel companies like Shell continue to make record profits?
Sickening, isn’t it?
And with news of yet another interest rate rise, it’s made for a tough news day.
There’s no other way to put it: Shell’s profits are obscene, immoral and indefensible. Yet still we keep hearing false justification for them — the fallacy that they might use those profits to ‘invest’ in green technologies and help us to create a sustainable, liveable planet.
This is not just a fallacy. It’s a lie.
If we hear things like that, we must remember that reported profits are what’s left after every single business expense, and those profits already take into account any perceived investments in green technology.
Furthermore, Shell consistently shows that they have little or no commitment to a cleaner, better world.
The truth of the matter boils down to this:
The people are being fleeced for every last penny by corporations like Shell who are destroying our shared home while they do it.
It really is as simple as that. We must unite and bring a stop to it.
The Big One
So, if you’ve been thinking about making a stand but wondering how you can do it, there’s a fantastic chance on the horizon for which you are needed, we are needed, everyone is needed.
Extinction Rebellion are asking 100,000 people to gather for The Big One outside Parliament from 21 April 2023.
I will be one of the 100,000.
